Classroom Management Plan: Ms. Ahern, Ms. Neumeier, Mr. Cannon

I. Attendance and Tardiness: Attendance will be taken every day.  Remember, according

to the attendance policy of NCAHS, you will fail a course on the 6th day of an unexcused

absence (for a class that meets daily) in a term; therefore, don’t miss class.  You are only

allowed 5 unexcused absences per term.  Don’t be tardy to class.  You should be in your

seat and ready to go from the time the bell rings until you are dismissed.  Significant,

repeated tardiness (3 per term) will result in demerits, extra work, etc.

II. Organizational Skills: Bring all materials to every class!  You will need an agenda

book,a separate three ring binder only to be used for English, as there will be many

notes and handouts, a covered textbook and/or paperback book, completed homework

assignment, and a writing utensil.

Additional software, programs, and materials:  AlphaSmart (word processor), Read

Please program, Inspiration software, Franklin Spellers, scanners, and books on tape.

III. Grading:  You will be graded as follows:

                       Essay and Objective Tests and Quizzes  =  35%

                       Daily Homework  =  20%

                       Class Participation = 20%

                       Projects (i.e. research, group, etc.) = 15% (or more depending on depth)

                       Notebook = 10%

Please note that if you should fail a term, weekly progress reports will be sent to parents!

IV. Homework: Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class unless

otherwise stated.  Assignments must include your name and the date completed.

To earn full credit, your written work must be correct, neat, and complete.

                 Daily assignments will be graded as follows:

                      correct, neat, and complete =  check +

                      average = check

                      incorrect, messy, and/or incomplete = check –

                      not done = 0

You will have 1 night to make-up the assignment to earn ½ credit.

 Assignments that are given letter grades will be based on a rubric.

                  20 points per day will be deducted for late assignments.

V. Extra Help: Extra help is available to all students.  It is your responsibility to set up

a mutually convenient time to meet with the teacher. Please give the teacher advanced

notice.

VI. Behavior:

                 Be on time

                 Bring required materials (including homework)

                 Positive statements only

                 Only one person speaks at a time

                 Be an active learner (focus)
